Modern Media Submission Fee

$35.00

This $35 submission fee is non-refundable. Inquires about the exhibition should be made to info@artscenewest.com prior to submitting.

Shortly after payment is made, a downloadable file containing the submission instructions will be made available directly onto your device (check the downloads tab next to your address bar in your web browser). In addition, you will also receive an email from Art Scene West containing a link to download the Submission Instructions (be sure to check your inbox and spam folder minutes after you make your payment.)

AGREEMENT FOR ARTIST SUBMISSIONS

Modern Media Exhibition

Each artist submitting an artwork to be considered for the Modern Media exhibition is in compliance with and agrees to all of the following terms of this Agreement:

  • The artwork submitted by the artist is an original creation of the submitting artist.

  • An artist’s submission shall consist of up to four (4) high-resolution digital photographs of their artwork(s). Filters, enhancements, manipulations, distortions, and all other kinds of image altering of the artwork may cause the submission to be rejected. 

  • The artist is at least 18 years of age and has the authority, without breaching any other agreement made by the artist, to make the submission to Art Scene West. 

  • All artwork submitted and selected shall be offered for sale throughout the exhibition, both at our gallery at 803 W Harbor drive, San Diego CA 92101, and on our website at www.artscenewest.com.

  • Artist grants Art Scene West a 40% sales commission on the artist’s artwork(s) selected for entry in the show and sold at any time during the exhibition.

  • Artist agrees that digital photographs submitted by the artist of their artwork(s), as well as taken by a member of the Art Scene West staff may be used/published by Art Scene West for purposes of gallery promotion and offering such artworks for sale at Art Scene West’s online and physical gallery.

  • All fees paid by artist(s) to Art Scene West are non-refundable.

  • Artist(s) retains all copyright ownership of their artwork.

  • Unless there is a sale of the artwork by Art Scene West during the exhibition, artists shall remain the sole owner of their artwork(s).

  • If selected for entry, the artist will be required to accept the terms of the Agreement for Artist Participation, specifying the Exhibition Terms, details for delivery of the artwork, and make payment of the participation fee through a secure portal at www.artscenewest.com, indicating their acceptance and willingness to participate in the exhibition.  

  • Communications by the artist regarding the exhibition shall be made via email addressed to: submissions@artscenewest.com.

  • Artwork(s) must be gallery-ready and equipped with an adequate hanging mechanism for wall display for all 2D artwork(s) or a standing mechanism for all 3D artwork(s). All artwork(s) received by the gallery that require labor for fastening an adequate hanging mechanism for it to be displayed in the exhibition will incur a fine of $25 dollars that will be paid by the artist at either 1.) a secure portal at www.artscenewest.com during the exhibition, or 2.) deducted from the 60% net sales commission of the artist if the artwork sells during the exhibition.   

  • The artist agrees to pay all shipping and handling fees associated with delivery of their artwork to Art Scene West and return shipping back to the artist's residence if the work remains unsold at the conclusion of the exhibition. Artists can 1.) include a return-shipping label when sending their package to the gallery, or 2.) request an electronic invoice from the gallery for return shipping costs at the end of the exhibition. 

  • Artist agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Art Scene West Gallery from any claim or demand, including attorney’s fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
