Artist Biography:
Nick Dominguez, Chicano artist based in Reading PA, Graduated from Albright with a Bachelor's Degree and RACC with a Trade Certificate, His art is a reflection of his culture and traditions, these are ingrained in the fabric of his work, he earned a BCIU Honorable mention in High School, and recently had an art piece exhibited in the Goggle Works. He also owns a Mexican-American brand Los De Aztlan.
Artist Statement:
My art is a reflection of my people and their beliefs-an expression that cannot escape the style rooted in the traditions passed down by my ancestors. Their ways of interpreting life, culture, society, and vision are ingrained in the very fabric of my work. Through this connection, I have developed a personal language that conveys our struggles, our culture, and our ability to transform, parody, and re-imagine historical events and symbols into something relevant and unique to our time and space. At the intersection of my art lies a constant questioning of my own identity. I often feel caught between worlds, not fully belonging to any one group. Yet, through my art and the distinctive style I've cultivated, I build a bridge between these spaces, piecing together the fragments of conflicting beliefs to form a fresh, evolving identity. It is in this intersection of past and present, tradition and transformation, that my work finds its voice.
