Artist Bio:
Bonnie Maxey is an Austin, Texas based printmaker whose artworks reflect her deep connection with water. Her artworks evoke awe, reverence, and a sense of gentle urgency for the fragile blue expanse of our planet, the oceans.
Many of the pieces are taken from photos by the artists, while SCUBA diving, while others are a compilation from other sources.
Printmaking training has been with Master Printers at Austin Community College, Flatbed Press, and Laguna Gloria Museum Art School . She has gained recognition of her pieces in various galleries and MOPA, San Diego.
Artist Statement:
We are truly defined by what we create, protect, and refuse to destroy. The ocean is bondless, beautiful, and blue. It is a magical place" Inscription found in "Dancing with Sea Lions" by Phillip Bonds on the Quino de Guardian in the Sea of Cortez.
