Poppy Flowers Landscape

$1,000.00

by Ramon M. Ferrer

Acrylic on Canvas

24” x 30”

$1,000

California poppy flowers' landscape captures the essence of open field, the beautiful sky and the red and orange approach of the poppy flowers.  This painting brings the calmness, the beauty, and the wonder of nature. I love painting the color contrasts of red, yellow, green, and light blue colors. Poppy flowers in an open field constantly symbolized life memories adding conceptual depth to this landscape composition.

Artist Biography:

Ramon M. Ferrer is a self-taught artist who resides in San Diego, California. He worked as a Aircraft Nondestructive Technician when serving in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the Navy and from the Federal Government in N.A.S. North Island, he decided to go back to his old passion in the realm of arts. Ramon decided to go back to his childhood hobby with his family's support and encouragement. He transformed his life into one devoted to art. He begun his new journey creating and selling his small arts in street fairs in San Diego area. Now he is bringing his passion to the next level of sharing his works through gallery exhibitions.

Artist Statement:

After retirement from the U.S. Navy I have to do interesting things to keep myself busy and to stay active, so I have decided to go back to my childhood hobby: Arts. I love to draw since I was a kid, but because of school, work, and family, I put it aside.

Also, I don't believe that I am good at it. I just love to see beautiful arts and crafts. They fascinate me so I have to recreate my passion in arts since I was a young boy.

I had never taken any art class, but I am so glad internet, blogs, you tube, etc. were created. I realized I could learn drawing, sketching, and painting through them. With persistency and with trial and error I decided to start developing my creativeness that has been stagnant for a very long time.

Art is actually a hard endeavor, but I believe I have nothing to lose. I am retired, I am in my last quarter (maybe) of my lifetime, I love what I am doing now, and I love to share my passion in art.
