Statement: Majestic Sierras are inspirational for me. I am excited to share my watercolors painted from life in the mountains. I try to capture a little bit of the soul of the place that I paint, its air, its light, the sun, the breeze... I hope that the people seeing my work fall in love with the Sierras, like I am - or that it will bring their own Sierras memories to life. There is nothing like painting from life - as I was taught from my very early years during my classical academic arts education. Creating a realistic three dimensional image on two dimensional paper is the challenge that I am excited to face every time I am setting up my easel.
