I photographed artifacts with the use of a digital camera at Hathaway Ranch Museum in Santa Fe Springs, California. I spent a few hours exploring the ranch while photographing artifacts in black and white. This medium allowed me to emphasize light, shadow, texture, and shape.
Artist Biography:
Yvette Crowder is a passionate still life photographer who is driven to create meaningful black and white images. She creates authentic landscape images that encourage quiet reflection.
A San Diego native born in 1975 with a Black and Mexican ethnicity, she now resides in Los Angeles. She enjoys exploring historical sites and rural areas in both Orange County and LA to capture images that illustrate the past. Yvette also enjoys exploring botanical gardens to create black and white images that emphasize contrast, shapes, and textures. Most importantly, she fulfills her God-given purpose by creating images that resonate with people from all over the world.
Artist Statement:
I create meaningful still life photography that is both authentic and memorable. I produce abstract and landscape images primarily with the use of black and white imagery using natural light. My intriguing photographs encourage viewers to ponder on subject matter that may be familiar or unusual. As a fine art photographer, my images are available for both the local and international community as well as galleries and publications.
