David Grieco grew up in a small town in New York and followed a letter that was written to his dad in 1958 by Paul "Bear" Bryant. David played football Alabama and lived a dream that came to an end after two years. With the practice field so close to the art department David so found himself taking art courses and ultimately pouring his bronze work his last year. Now having a piece in the Paul Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama he has come full circle with that moment he walked into the art department. David has since sculpted over 300 pieces exhibited in galleries in NYC and LA and has had shows in Japan and Barcelona with some personal commissions for NFL players. College football and learning to accomplish a goal begins every piece and the successful art career that spans 30 years of persistence, faith and love for the craft will come full circle again as he has been commissioned by his high school to sculpt a life size monument of his high school football coach by the same field.

Sculpture has become my life, day after day, moment to moment I am inspired by nature and form. The journey of my craft is one that after thirty years in the in my studio and the business have built a network and I would have to say a family of vendors and companies that at the end of the year always have great conversations of accomplishments in the world of art and creating with the projects that come out of my studio. After exhibiting in galleries for many years and now working in the public art space have gotten more joy and satisfaction out of creating art for communities and public spaces. Beginning my career as a figurative sculptor and learning the tools to get to have the ability to communicate a true vision is ongoing but now, I have the freedom create artwork that speaks to more people and am truly enjoying it.
